How to Set Up Slack Notifications for Your Team

Get real-time score updates, streak celebrations, and deadline reminders in your Slack channel. Here's how to set it up in 60 seconds.

SlackHow-To

Why Slack?

Your team already lives in Slack. Instead of making people log in to a separate tool to see results, bring the results to them. Friday Numbers sends beautifully formatted notifications directly to your chosen Slack channel.

What You'll Get

Once connected, your channel receives:

  • Review opened — A heads-up when the weekly review starts, with a "Submit Your Check-in" button
  • Score submitted — Real-time updates as each team member submits, with a visual score bar
  • Streak milestones — Celebrate when someone hits 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 consecutive weeks
  • 100% completion — A team celebration when everyone has submitted
  • Review closed — Summary with the top 3 scorers and team average
  • Deadline reminders — A nudge listing who hasn't submitted yet
  • Weekly digest — Monday morning recap of last week's results

Setup Steps

  1. Go to Settings in your Friday Numbers dashboard
  2. Scroll to Slack Integration
  3. Click Add to Slack
  4. Choose the channel where you want notifications
  5. Done!

Customize What You Receive

Not every team wants every notification. After connecting, you'll see toggles for each notification type. Turn off individual submissions if your team is large, or disable the weekly digest if you prefer real-time updates only.

Pro Tip

Create a dedicated #accountability channel for Friday Numbers notifications. This keeps your main channels clean while giving the team a focused space to discuss results.
